Shaina Starks-Solis MPH, CPH
My passion for milk banking began in 2010 when I was hired to work in the milk processing laboratory at Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas. Joining the nonprofit fulfilled my love for science and dedication to help vulnerable populations.
In 2015, I was promoted to director of operations where I supervised specialized laboratory processes and complex safety guidelines for seven years. I transitioned to executive director in 2022, an opportunity that has broadened my scope of leadership, program development, fundraising and community partnerships. During my 14-year tenure, I have gained invaluable experience during periods of unprecedented growth and immense challenges such as Ebola, Zika, COVID-19 and the 2022 formula shortage.
I am an enthusiastic advocate for fragile infants and breastfeeding mothers, who continually motivate me to improve services and expand community partnerships and programs. I enjoy team collaboration, particularly with other directors, healthcare providers and the wide range of talented experts in nonprofit milk banking.
I received my Master of Public Health from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and Bachelor of Health Studies from Texas Women’s University.
